Beginning in the year AD 20XX, the Squirtles rose to prominence during their initial seasons in Johto. During this time, the organization had three hall of fame players grace their court. Never winning a title during this time of major success, ownership began to question the viability of the franchise in the small market Johto region. Paired with the eventual downturn of play on the court, ownership decided to sell. When the newly crowned Pokemon Master Ash Ketchum bought the rights to the team, he deiced to move the team to his home region of Kanto. The Squirtles found new life in a new home: Settler's Ridge, a tiny settlement north of Pallet Town. Under new ownership, the Squirtles have risen from the surf, riding a wave of newfound success to the playoffs.

In their first season, the new look Squirltes found themselves in the championship game, only to taste the agony of defeat. This loss churns the seas of competition, fueling the team as they look to finally reach the mountain top. Will they accomplish their goal this season?
