Founded in the fall of 2016 as The Bluebirds The Long Shots first season was a difficult one. Changing their name mid-season didn't boost the team to victory as expected and they ended regular season play without a single win.

As forgettable as their season was a win in the first round of the playoffs proved equally memorable. Shutting down the top seeded team, Three Rivers United in regulation forced a shootout. The Long Shots picked their heroes.

The crowd gathered to watch as The Long Shots and Three Rivers United went shot for shot until the fifth and final round when The Long Shots final shooter punched the ball home while the United player went high to the right missing the goal and giving the game to The Long Shots.

Eliminated by Winterfell FC in the second round in a brutal cold icy game with wind that was never favorable to The Long Shots the core of the team would remain intact and move indoors for the winter where they improved their game and added several new players.

Spring brought with it a change in formation as The Long Shots switched to a 4231 from a flat 442. After a few weeks of getting used to the new formation the team began to see offensive benefits and had several close games.

With summer quickly approaching The Long Shots look to continue improving and hope to finish well.
